The Chevy SS was built to satisfy a production requirement for the factory in Australia. IIRC, it was cheaper to make the SS and take a loss on it than it would have been to terminate the production line at the time.

But imagine this, the marketing department opposed them because they thought that including them would make the public believe that the car was unsafe.

I remember my dad having a black SVT Contour when I was very little. I remember sitting in the back of it when I was 7 while my dad was doing highway pulls with an old E36 and a couple of 240sx rolling with underglow. Out of all the cars he's own it's probably been one of the most temperamental and unreliable next to his 04 Sorento.

I passed on the Focus RS because of the open deck engine design that directly caused the head gasket issues. I was reading reports of people needing new engines in as little as 5000 miles of ownership. So I now have a 2018 BMW M240i with the B58 engine.

Majority of those cars no one could afford anyways because they get priced out of normal people's ranges. Another reason the Viper failed is because they released it in the middle of a recession, hell two of the cars on this list were released in the middle of a recession where people had no interest buying new cars.

Before the Chevy SS was a Chevy, it was a Pontiac G8, and before that it was the Pontiac GTO, both incredible cars that didn't sell because GM was in the process of getting rid of Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Saturn, SAAB, Hummer, and being taken over by Obama's Socialist government. They kept 1/3 ownership for the government, 1/3 for the union, and 1/3 for "special" stockholders. Hundreds of thousands of regular stockholders lost the GM portion of their retirement funds. Then they put a woman in charge, who didn't know much about cars and couldn't care less. Now they are making, for the most part, Trucks. By the way, Chevy still made the Chevy SS for Police cars for a few years after keeping it from us, because they had contracts to fulfill. They are hot but they have interiors like a Taxi, and a plastic back seat to carry drunks to the station so the vomit and bodily fluids wouldn't stain the upholstery. A real sleeper if you can find a good one.
